Creek Chub 700 Pikie Minnow
The #700 Pikie Minnow was first introduced by Creek Chub Bait Company in 1920 and was made until around 1978. Although Pikies were made after that year, the most collectible ones were made prior to 1979 when Lazy Ike took over Creek Chub Bait Co. CCBC Pikie Minnow lures can be found with glass eyes, tack eyes or no eyes. They are found with wooden bodies or plastic bodies. The earliest Pikies are wood, have thinner bodies, double line ties and unmarked lips. Later the lips were marked C.C.B.CO Garrett Ind, and after that PAT 9-27-20 was added to the lip. They were advertised as having 19 catalogued colors and many special order colors were also done by request.
