This is a nice old Arbogast Coachdog Orange Belly Wooden Two Hook Musky Jitterbug lure that was sold on Tough Lures! Vintage and antique fishing lures are added for sale often so keep checking back! I buy old lures so feel free to contact me if you have any to sell.

This musky jitterbug is very nice with light storage wear. This color was not made on the 1940's two hook musky jitterbugs. This has an undrilled 1990's wooden body (hooks are usually on the sides) with 1940's hardware installed on the belly. Also weird is Coachdog is a pretty scarce colors on these wooden baits and this one has an orange belly as well. It seems to be a factory paint job and not a repaint at all. Whether this was a fisherman altered bait or a factory creation may never be known. These were mentioned in the Jitterbug book by Sam Van Camp that a few of these type of rigged musky baits were found and he also wasn't sure what the story is with them. I am considering this a fisherman altered bait on an original factory painted body, but either way this is a great conversation piece to say the least and probably isn't one that is in many collections out there!
